Taylors 32 Toothpaste
Pixi by Petra Brow Tamer
MONU Fiji Facial Oil
STYLondon Siligel Blender
Skinfix Hand repair cream

Now lets take a closer look at each product, size and price.

Taylor’s 32 Natural Whitening Toothpaste Fennel & Mint
Now this smells lovely, it doesn’t smell as harsh as normal toothpaste. I’ve only just started using this so can’t really say if it works yet or not, however it’s certainly more gentle than normal toothpaste and would be perfect for people who are sensitive to the taste of toothpaste. The price is reasonable too, I’d happily replace my normal toothpaste with this if I feel it works.
£5 (full size)

Pixi By Petra – Brow Tamer
I actually already own this, I love it. I enjoy using it on no makeup days to straighten out any stray brow hairs. I have very sensitive skin and this doesn’t react badly with my skin. I really like Pixi products and have recommended this brow tamer to a few friends who’ve wanted a clear brow product. I will certainly be keeping, you can never have too many back ups.
£12 (full size)

MONU – Firming Fiji Facial Oil
I’ve not yet used this as I suffer with a mixture of oily and dry skin. Although it may be fine with my dry areas I’m a little scared it might cause a breakout. However I plan to use this once I’ve plucked up the courage. I like the idea of it and have heard good things about this brand.
£26 (not full size)

STYLondon – Siligel Blender
I’ve seen so many of these types of products on the market, a easy to clean alternative to the beauty blender….however I’ve also never seen a “successful” review of one. I plan to test this out this week on a day that I’m not bothered if it goes wrong. However I do hope it works, I’d love a way to apply my makeup without having to clean for ages to get the blender clean. I’m actually pretty excited to try this out.
£5.99 (full size)

Skinfix – Hand Repair Cream
My husband will benefit from this greatly. The bottle says it’s safe for use eczema which I’m sure my husband would like to use. I’ve used many hand repair creams over the years as my hands got very dry and damaged from my job which involves a lot of water. I may review the cream separately at a later date after both my husband and I have had chance to give it a good use.
£12.99 (full size)

I’ve enjoyed this months box, there are a few products I’ve not had chance to try yet but part of the reason I get the box is to try out new things. I’m excited to try the new Siligel Blender and can’t wait to see if the toothpaste works as well as my current one. I’ve liked the very “clear” and “clean” theme of this box with both the pixi brow tamer and siligel blender being clear as well as the toothpaste box and firming oil bottle being white.

Thank you for reading,

Charlotte Tilbury Scent Of A Dream Review

Good Evening,

I’ve always consistently loved a certain perfume (review on that one coming soon!) but last year I bought some products from Charlotte Tilbury and with it got a sample of her “Scent Of A Dream” perfume. I didn’t really think much about the sample at the time and it sat not being used for a while, until one day I came across it again and gave it a try.

I really loved the smell of this perfume and it lasted for AGES! At the time I was working long days in the salon and smelt of wet dog most of the time, I really felt like I needed a long lasting perfume. I certainly found it with this one. The Charlotte Tilbury site describes it as:

Darlings, I have created a one-of-a-kind ‘floral chypre’ perfume harmony that IGNITES a mind-altering fleurotic frequency. Featuring a blend of JOY top notes including Lemon, Peach and Black Pepper, ‘FLEUROTIC’ heart notes of Jasmine, Frankincense, Tuberose and Violet, plus MAGIC MOLECULE base notes of Fire Tree, Iso E Super, Patchouli and Ambroxan. It attracts LOVE, LIGHT, POWER, POSITIVITY and SEX to the wearer!

I’m not skilled with describing scents but it’s a rich scent, strong but not harsh. I can’t tell you what it smells like, it to me is a very safe smell. I feel like it might be similar to a perfume my grandma wore when I was young as it does remind me of her, not in the old person smell way but the nice, safe, warm way. See I’m really bad at this…..

When I wore it out for the first time I had a few people ask me what it was as they liked it, it’s strong enough for people to notice without being over powering.

Now what I will say is that this is fairly up there in price, at the time of posting this the price list is as follows:
30ml – £49
50ml – £68
100ml – £96

I had to sit for a while and decide which to buy, I’m always reluctant to spend a lot of money on perfume. When I buy a perfume I want it to smell good, last long and be noticed, for that price I want to not smell like me! I feel like this perfume ticks those boxes.

I paid slightly more so that I could get a few samples of other products, after all the perfume sample was what made me decide to buy this perfume in the first place. The down side to that is that the samples are very very small, which when I spent £100 in total on the site I’d have liked a bit more of product to sample.

The perfume arrived fast and in good condition, it was Free delivery.

The perfume arrives in a silk bag which is very pretty, although in my opinion I’d have liked a choice (silk bag or bigger samples…I’d have picked bigger samples!)

Silk Bag

Inside the silk bag the perfume is boxed in a stylish box that is very much in the Charlotte Tilbury style.

Charlotte Tilbury Perfume Box

Now the good stuff, the bottle is stunning. I may actually keep the bottle long after it’s empty as it’s too nice to throw out.

Charlotte Tilbury Scent Of A Dream

So here’s my final thoughts on this perfume,  the bottle is beautiful, the box is stylish and the smell is divine. If you’re a perfume lover and want something that’ll get you noticed then this might be worth the purchase. If you’re not a big perfume wearer then it might be worth buying the smaller bottle or see if you can get to Charlotte Tilbury to try it out first.

I’ll certainly buy it again, although it won’t replace my all time favourite it will certainly be loved, used and is in my top 3!

*This isn’t sponsored, I purchased this will my own money.*

Anti Haul

I thought I’d give you all a break from product reviews and do a fun post, my first ever anti haul! If you like it I may do another in the future, so comment below and let me know.

Disclaimer: Although these products are not to my taste doesn’t mean the product or the company is bad, many of these products might be products you love and that’s fine, we are all different with different tastes, needs and opinions. Please don’t feel offended, that isn’t my intention with this post.

With that being said, lets get started.

The first product I won’t be buying is the Kat Von D shade and light Glimmer palette. Stunning as it is, I feel like I have similar shades in other palettes. I love Kat Von D and own her shade and light contour palette, her shade and light eye palette and another eye shadow palette of hers so I am a big fan of her quality but I just feel like it would sit in my collection and not be used.

Keeping in the glitter theme, the second product I won’t be buying is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Aurora Glow Kit, this is beautiful but a few of these shades wouldn’t suit my skin tone. Also I play to save that money to get the Moon Child glow kit in the future.  This would certainly be worth it if I had darker skin.

Product number 3 on my nope list is the Benefit Benetint Lip and Cheek tint, as a fan of Benefit Cosmetics I just find myself passing by this product time and time again. I think it’s because I never got into the whole tint fad.  I just can’t see the need for it myself, although I know others who use lip and cheek tints frequently and like them.

Product number 4 is the Too Faced Natural Love Palette, I swear by the Too Faced Chocolate bar palette but I just feel like this one has too many shades that I won’t ever use. I’m not big on natural, I think I’ll save my £52 and hope they come out with a palette in the future that’s more to my style. Granted it’s beautiful to look at but not for me.

Okay I’ll stick to 4 products this time as I really don’t want this post to be too long. I really hope you enjoy it, It’s harder than I thought it would be.

My next post will be on Sunday and will be a product review!

Look Incredible Deluxe Box

This is my first month trying this beauty box, this box is a high end beauty box costing £35 a month.

It costs the same as the cohorted beauty box and is highly rated. I’ve been very excited to try it out and try out the product selection.

Look Incredible Deluxe October 2016

  • Japonesque Makeup Setting Spray £29

I really like this setting spray, I’m not sure I’d select it over my Urban Decay setting spray but it’s a nice addition if you are looking for a new setting spray.

  • Mac Upward Lash Mascara £19

This really did lift my lashes, because the applicator is so small I decided to use it on my bottom lashes…don’t make that mistake it lifted them straight into my under-eye area causing mess! But on my top lashes this was great, I usually find my eyes get irritated after a little while with mascara but with this one I wore it all day without irritation.

  • Too Faced Perfect Lips Liner £15

I love too faced, this is the first lip liner of theirs I have had and I really love it. It applies great and easy to use. A fantastic addition to my makeup bag.

  • Aromatherapy Associates Support Breathe Roller Ball £17

I enjoy these sorts of products and I’m planning to buy the stress one, however the scent of this for me was too mild. I did use it when I had a cold last week and it did feel too mild. I love the idea of it and would be happy to get another to try.

  • Neutrogena Makeup Remover Towelettes £10

This for me was the only downside to this box, I felt it was a bit of a cop out for a high-end beauty box. I could easily go down to boots and pick some of these up myself, not really what I want to find in my beauty box. Although I did enjoy using them I still would have liked a lesser easy to access product instead.

Overall, I really enjoyed this month’s box, I hope the quality is this good every month. Apart from the makeup wipes I really didn’t dislike any product in this box.

Cohorted October 2016

This is actually my very last Cohorted box, I unsubscribed for a couple of reasons. I didn’t feel the customer service was very good, nor did I feel you got the quality you paid for. I also found that out of the 3 months I subscribed, 2 of those months the box was late.

This months box did make me feel like I was right to step away from them, I may re-subscribe if they up their standards of service and quality.

Cohorted October 2016

The Cohorted black box is £35 a month and is a “high end” beauty box.

  • Too Faced No Filter Selfie Powders

I love too faced as a brand, I do love this packaging too with the cute Chihuahua on it. I’ve yet to try it but you get three good sized pans of finishing powders to give you a different “filter” to your look. I was very happy to see this in the box as it was on my “to buy” list.

  • Dr Botanicals Neroli & Shea Butter Body Nourishing Cream 100ml

I will be doing a full product review into this but as a little summery I like the smell and texture of this and the packaging is lovely. This product is also vegan friendly which is always a plus!

  • Paul Yacommine Mico Finish No3 25ml

Premium shine with organic essential oils.

As said in another blog post I’m not into hair oil myself but I’m sure they are a nice addition.

  • Paul Yacommine Mico Finish No1 25ml

Premium shine with organic essential oils.

  • Paul Yacommine Micro Treatment Oil 25ml

Protects from sun, sea and chlorine

I felt this was a weird addition to an October box, as this would be best suited during the summer months.

This box to me assured me I was right to cancel, the quality just isn’t there. I really liked the addition of the too faced item and even the body cream. However the hair products to me felt as though they were filler products.
